Job summary

The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center in Portland, ME is seeking a Sales and Production Associate to help operate the store and production area. You will maintain a welcoming, organized environment and build positive relationships with donors and customers as you process donations and merchandise.

In this role you will handle cash operations, assist with sorting, pricing, stocking, and displaying items, and support the work therapy program by modeling professional conduct and good work

Qualifications

• Ability to speak and understand English for effective communication with supervisors, employees, beneficiaries, and customers.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assist in creating a pleasant and hospitable work environment and maintain good customer relationships.
• Assist, as required, with store operations.
• Serve all customers in a courteous and efficient manner.
• Handle all donations with care and donors with respect and courtesy.
• Handle merchandise as directed, always maintaining proper categories and colorization.
• Maintain a clean and clutter free work area.
• Comply with all cash handling and security standards as relates to cash register operations, daily sales reports and bank deposits.
