Job summary

The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center is seeking a Sales and Production Associate to work in a production store and be responsible to perform a wide variety of duties in the store and the production area. The role focuses on delivering exceptional customer service, processing donations, stocking merchandise, and maintaining orderly displays to support work therapy programs.

Qualifications

• Ability to speak and understand English for effective communication with supervisors, employees, beneficiaries, and customers.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assist in creating a pleasant and hospitable work environment and maintain good customer relationships.
• Assist, as required, with store operations.
• Serve all customers in a courteous and efficient manner.
• Handle all donations with care and donors with respect and courtesy.
• Handle merchandise as directed, always maintaining proper categories and colorization.
• Ensure that store is sufficiently stocked and “ragged out” in accordance with the “ARC COMMAND RAG OUT CALENDAR.”
• Assist in cleaning and general maintenance of store property.
• Immediately report theft, customer complaints, injuries, and any unsafe equipment or conditions to management.
• Maintain a clean and clutter free work area.
• Be well-versed in and comply with Guide to Thrift Store & Donation Center Operations manual.
• This position will support the work therapy program component of The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Centers by providing to beneficiaries; an example of professional conduct, work habits, and supervision (as directed by Supervisor).
• Other duties as may be assigned by immediate supervisor, Store Supervisor, Assistant Store Supervisor, and/or Administrator.
• Cashier/Sales Floor: Comply with all cash handling and security standards as relates to cash register operations, daily sales reports and bank deposits.
• Sorter: Sort minimum of 300 store quality garments an hour by department.
• Hanger/Tagger: Hang and ticket a minimum of 225 pieces per hour, etc.
• Pricer: Price a minimum of 250 garments an hour using a wide range of prices determined by the style, quality and condition of each piece.
• Runner: Place a minimum of 225 garments an hour from the production room to the sales floor.
• Bric a Brac: Sort and clean all saleable miscellaneous merchandise donations daily.
• Shoes/Accessories: Sort and clean all saleable shoes, handbags and accessory donations daily.
• Domestics: Sort and measure all saleable linen items daily.
• Books/Records/Toys: Sort and clean all saleable merchandise daily.
• Furniture/Electrical: Sort, clean and test all electrical and furniture donations as required.
• Donations/Maintenance: Maintain the cleanliness of the sales floor, bathrooms, entry, windows, sidewalks and parking areas daily.
