Job summary

The Salvation Army Thrift Store in Olathe, KS is hiring a Store Sales Associate I to deliver friendly customer service, process donations, and support a fast-paced retail environment.

You will handle register transactions, balance cash drawers, and keep the store organized while contributing to sales goals. Flexible scheduling includes early mornings, evenings, weekends, and some holidays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or currently pursuing one.
• Retail, customer service, or cashiering experience preferred.
• Basic computer and cash-handling skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs regularly and team lift up to 100 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service and represent The Salvation Army’s mission and values.
• Greet donors and shoppers and assist with transactions at the register.
• Operate the POS system and handle cash transactions accurately.
• Open, close, and balance cash drawers per TSA policies.
• Maintain a clean, organized store and restock merchandise.
• Support store productivity and contribute to sales goals.
• Be available for flexible scheduling including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and some holidays.
