Job summary

District Council of Madison, Inc., Society of St. Vincent de Paul is seeking a full-time, non-exempt store associate for the Waunakee thrift store. The role focuses on daily operations, customer service, donations processing, sales, and team leadership under store policies.

You will train staff, manage inventory and cash handling, and support payroll tasks while upholding SVdP safeguarding and inclusion values. A background check is required.

Qualifications

• Experience with Counterpoint or similar POS; Windows OS and MS Office/Google apps.
• Strong communication, teamwork and confidentiality; ability to manage deadlines.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen; valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Train, supervise and coach store personnel; enforce store policies and handbook rules.
• Manage daily store operations, stock rotation and cash handling procedures.
• Plan projects with Store Manager; monitor staffing and assist in hiring decisions.
• Ensure safety compliance, de-escalate conflicts, and maintain a professional environment.
• Participate in payroll tasks, scheduling, PTO approvals and timekeeping.
