St. Vincent de Paul of Baton Rouge invites a motivated Gonzales Thrift Store Manager to lead a mission-centered retail operation. You’ll guide daily store performance, merchandising, and donor relations while fostering a service-focused team.

This role emphasizes coaching volunteers, ensuring excellent customer experiences, adherence to procedures, and safe, efficient operations. You’ll collaborate with the Director of Retail Operations to drive revenue and extend the charity’s impact.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 5+ years of retail management or supervisory experience.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Working knowledge of POS systems, Microsoft Office, and Google apps; strong math and data-entry skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work weekends/holidays as needed.

What You’ll Lead

As Gonzales Thrift Store Manager, you’ll guide a mission-centered retail operation that funds St. Vincent de Paul’s charitable work while delivering a welcoming, efficient shopping and donation experience. You’ll be accountable for store performance, operational discipline, and a team culture rooted in service.

Key responsibilities:

• Direct daily store operations, sales execution, merchandising, and inventory controls
• Coach, schedule, and develop employees and volunteers; set clear expectations and follow through on performance
• Uphold customer service standards and support local marketing efforts to grow revenue and reach
• Maintain strong store presentation, safety, cash handling, and compliance with established procedures

Required qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED
• 5+ years of retail management/supervisory experience (equivalent experience considered)
• Valid driver’s license
• Working knowledge of POS systems, Microsoft Office, and Google apps; strong math and data-entry skills
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (and 50+ lbs with assistance) and work weekends/holidays as needed

A Day on the Floor

You’ll open with a quick walk-through of the sales floor and donation/warehouse areas, then align the team on the day’s priorities and service expectations. The rhythm moves between coaching in real time, checking registers and reports, responding to donor and customer needs, and keeping the store looking sharp. You’ll pause to review sales trends, adjust the plan, and communicate updates to the Director of Retail Operations. By close, you’ll confirm the store is reset for tomorrow and that the team leaves supported, clear, and proud of the impact their work makes.
