Job summary

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Cincinnati is seeking a part-time cashier for our thrift store. The role involves processing sales, handling cash and credit transactions, and assisting with receiving donated items.

You will greet customers, answer questions on prices and policies, and help keep the register area and store clean and organized. The cashier also supports opening/closing procedures, maintains donor privacy, and performs other duties as assigned to ensure a positive shopping

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year cashier experience.
• Ability to stand and walk most of the shift.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Basic math, calculator, and computer skills.
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Process sales transactions using internal system and credit machine.
• Open and close cash register procedures.
• Answer customer questions about prices, discounts, and policies.
• Issue receipts, hold tags, sold tags, and appliance warranties as needed.
• Handle credit card information and donor data confidentially.
• Greet customers and maintain a safe, clean work area.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Sort and price donated items using internal guidelines.
• Move items to sales floor and stock shelves.
• Keep store and dock areas clean and neat.
• Other duties as assigned.
