Job summary

Blue Ridge Care's Thrift Associate role supports daily thrift shop operations, including sorting donations, pricing items, and delivering friendly customer service to thrive community fundraising for hospice services.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, comfort with computer systems, and prior retail or customer service experience. You will work with volunteers, support store operations, and help maintain a welcoming, well-organized shop environment.

Qualifications

• Pricing and merchandising duties for thrift shop items.
• Store operations including opening/closing during hours.
• Volunteer coordination and onboarding of new volunteers.
• Maintaining accurate receipts and daily deposits for sales.
• Delivering friendly customer service and answering questions about merchandise and mission.
• Maintaining shop cleanliness and safety of facilities.

Responsibilities

• Pricing, stock, and merchandise display for sale in the thrift shop.
• Open and close the shop, uphold high customer service standards.
• Coordinate volunteers and orient new volunteers to procedures.
• Maintain accurate receipts and daily deposits.
• Greet customers and assist with merchandise and our mission.
• Ensure shop, offices, and bathrooms are clean and safe.
• Act independently to meet community needs and mission.
