Job summary

The Salvation Army Thrift Store in Clive, IA is seeking a Retail Associate for a part-time role at $18 per hour. The position offers a 25‑hour workweek with evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.

Responsibilities include assisting customers and donors, processing sales at the POS, pricing and stocking donations, and keeping the store clean and organized. A high school diploma or current pursuit is preferred, plus reliable availability.

Qualifications

• Ability to speak, write, and understand English for effective communication with customers, donors, and staff.
• Basic computer skills, including POS and related systems used by TSA ACA.
• Ability to accurately handle cash, give change, and follow cash handling procedures.
• Ability to carry out written or verbal instructions and apply basic math in daily tasks.
• Ability to work in multiple areas of the store including sales floor, donation receiving, and stocking.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, professional service to customers and donors.
• Operate the Point of Sale system and manage cash drawer.
• Process donations, prepare merchandise for sale, and price items.
• Maintain a clean, organized sales floor, donation area, and storage areas.
• Assist with receiving, moving, and stocking donations and merchandise.
• Follow store policies on pricing, merchandising, safety, and conduct.
