Job summary

Cherokee Insights, part of Cherokee Federal, is seeking a Threat Manager at the mid-level in support of the Behavioral Threat Analysis Center. The role involves threat assessments for insider threats, developing intervention strategies, and advising DoD components on threat management.

Active Top Secret/SCI clearance and U.S. citizenship are required. Starting salary ranges from $160,000 to $190,000 with comprehensive benefits and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Certification as Threat Assessment Professional (ATAP) and active ATAP membership.
• At least five years of compensated professional experience in threat assessment and management (TAM) or two years of ATAP membership plus two years of compensated experience.
• Experience with Intelligence/Law Enforcement communities, Government, DoD and commercial databases used to compile analytic products, and the ability to incorporate results into threat assessment briefs.
• Demonstrated experience using Structured Professional Judgement (SPJ) tools to support threat assessment and management.

Responsibilities

• Provide threat assessments regarding motivations and intentions of potential insider threat activities.
• Consult with DoD Components to ensure threat management objectives are considered and factored into insider threat programs.
• Provide risk-based recommendations on steps to mitigate or address risk indicators of insider threat.
• Brief initial results of threat assessments and threat management recommendations to senior officials and DoD stakeholders.
• Support senior DoD management initiatives on threat management issues impacting assessments and recommendations.
• Develop threat assessment indicators to prevent, deter, detect, and mitigate insider threats to national security or DoD personnel and facilities.
• Assist in informing and tuning threat management strategies and assessment instruments used to identify potential risk behaviors.
• Formulate related threat management strategies in support of DoD components that may have national security implications.
• Develop and provide training courses on elements of threat management.
• Develop standard briefings on threat assessments and threat management issues.
• Produce reports and talking points from targeted insider threat research.
