10a Labs is seeking a Threat Investigation Engineer to build, improve, and support AI-powered backend systems used in high-stakes safety investigations. This role combines backend development, production troubleshooting, and platform reliability in a hands-on engineering position.

The ideal candidate is a strong Python engineer with experience building production applications, debugging complex systems, and integrating AI-powered capabilities.

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering experience in Python and backend development.
• Experience with platform engineering, SRE, or production operations.
• Experience building and maintaining production software systems.
• Familiarity with REST APIs and backend services.
• Experience with AI-powered applications and model APIs.
• Excellent troubleshooting and debugging skills.
• Experience with production monitoring and incident response.
• Ability to scope problems and deliver maintainable solutions.
• Strong communication with technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
• Willingness to participate in on-call, including weekends/holidays.

Responsabilités

• Design, develop, test, and maintain backend services and AI-assisted applications that support threat investigation workflows.
• Partner directly with investigators to understand operational challenges, identify opportunities for improvement, and translate requirements into engineering solutions.
• Build and integrate AI-powered features, APIs, and services that improve efficiency, accuracy, and reliability of investigation processes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, including failed workflows, processing delays, data inconsistencies, and system errors.
• Participate in rotating on-call coverage, including weekends and holidays, to diagnose issues, implement fixes, and elevate when necessary.
• Improve system reliability and observability through monitoring, logging, automated testing, documentation, and tooling.
• Investigate complex issues across backend services and data pipelines, identifying root causes and sustainable solutions.
• Collaborate with engineering and platform teams to deploy improvements and support evolving needs.
• Own engineering tasks end-to-end from requirements to deployment and maintenance.
