Anthropic is seeking a Threat Intel Manager to lead the Influence Operations & Surveillance team within Threat Intelligence. You will define strategy, build capabilities, and personally lead complex investigations into state-linked surveillance and misuse by spyware ecosystems.

This leadership role requires guiding a small team, coordinating with government partners and researchers, and reporting on AI-enabled IO and surveillance to shape safety-by-design strategies.

Qualifications

• Deep subject matter expertise in influence operations, coordinated inauthentic behavior, or state surveillance / commercial spyware ecosystems.
• Led investigative or threat intel teams.
• Proficient in SQL and Python for data analysis and threat detection.
• Experience attributing campaigns to threat actors, including state-sponsored operations.
• Strong OSINT tradecraft for investigating information ecosystems.
• Hands-on experience with large language models and how they can be weaponized for IO and surveillance.
• Able to present analytical work to technical and non-technical audiences, including government stakeholders and senior leadership.

Responsibilities

• Own strategy, priorities, and outcomes for the Influence Operations & Surveillance threat intel mission area.
• Hire, manage, and develop a small team of technical threat investigators with IO and surveillance expertise.
• Lead investigations into state-linked surveillance misuse including commercial spyware vendors.
• Stand up automated detection: abuse signals, clustering, and network detection for information manipulation and surveillance tooling.
• Conduct cross-platform analysis linking on-platform activity to broader campaigns across social media, messaging platforms, and spyware supply chain.
• Attribute campaigns to specific actors, with focus on state-sponsored operations.
• Own external engagement with government partners, platform integrity teams, researchers, and threat intel communities.
• Drive public and partner-facing reporting on AI-enabled IO and surveillance; inform safety-by-design strategies.
