Job summary

Anthropic is seeking a Threat Intel Manager to lead the CBRN-E & Advanced Weapons team within Threat Intelligence. You will guide strategy, priorities, and investigative outcomes to detect and disrupt misuse of Anthropic's AI systems for hazardous threats.

The role requires building and mentoring a multidisciplinary team, advancing detection methods, and coordinating with government partners. You may face sensitive content and weekend escalations, with compensation in the announced range.

Qualifications

• Intelligence analyst, policy expert, or researcher with deep biosecurity and CBRN-E threat domain knowledge.
• Led investigative or analytic teams with mentorship and program-building experience.
• Experience with threat actor profiling, intelligence frameworks, and collection methods.
• Hands-on experience with large language models and AI misuse risks for CBRN-E.
• Strong stakeholder management across researchers, policy, legal, government, and partners.
• Ability to present analytical work to technical and non-technical audiences including government.

Responsibilities

• Own strategy and outcomes for the CBRN-E mission area and mature it into a rigorous program.
• Hire, manage, and develop a team of investigators with domain expertise across biological, chemical, and weapons-development threat areas.
• Lead investigations into attempts to misuse Anthropic's systems for CBRN-E weapons or advanced capabilities.
• Evolve detection toward CBRN-specific signals in partnership with collections engineers.
• Set analytic quality standards grounded in open-source research and threat actor behavior.
• Oversee escalation and enforcement decisions with policy and enforcement teams.
• Lead external engagement with government agencies and scientific communities.
• Inform safety-by-design strategies by forecasting threat actor use of frontier AI.
• Serve as liaison to government partners with regular reporting and briefings.
