Job summary

Byte Systems, a VTG subsidiary in McLean, VA, seeks a Cyber Threat Hunter to proactively detect and mitigate threats within a large enterprise. You will drive hypothesis-based hunts using HMM-4 and MITRE ATT&CK, analyze telemetry from logs, network traffic, and endpoints, and coordinate with security teams to close gaps.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in cyber security operations or threat hunting.
• Experience mapping adversary TTPs to observed activity using MITRE ATT&CK.

Responsibilities

• Conduct proactive threat hunting using HMM-4 and MITRE ATT&CK.
• Develop hypotheses for targeted hunts based on threat intel and internal data.
• Collaborate with endpoint, network, cloud, and threat intel teams to collect and analyze data.
• Identify IOCs and anomalies with security tools and telemetry.
• Analyze threats, assess impact, and recommend remediation strategies.
• Document objectives and progress; produce detailed reports with root-cause analysis.
