Piper Companies is seeking a Threat Hunter to join a growing client in the cybersecurity industry in the United States. This role is fully remote and ideal for hands-on security professionals with expertise in networking, systems administration, and threat detection.

You will conduct proactive threat hunting, build SPL queries in Splunk, investigate events with SIEM/UEBA, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to strengthen defenses. Salary range is $130,000–$160,000 with full benefits.

Qualifikationen

• 4+ years of threat hunting, incident response, or security operations experience.
• Hands-on experience with Splunk or another SIEM, building SPL queries from scratch.
• Strong understanding of networking concepts and enterprise infrastructure.
• Experience with UEBA/UBA platforms to identify suspicious user behavior.
• Prior Systems/Network Engineer background is highly preferred.

The Threat Hunter role is ideal for a hands-on security professional with a strong background in networking, systems engineering, and cyber threat detection who enjoys proactively identifying and investigating advanced threats.

Responsibilities of the Threat Hunter include:

• Conduct proactive threat hunting activities across enterprise environments to identify malicious activity and indicators of compromise.
• Create and optimize SPL queries from scratch within Splunk or a comparable SIEM platform to enhance threat detection.
• Investigate anomalous events, user activity, and potential security incidents utilizing SIEM and UEBA/UBA technologies.
• Analyze network, system, and security telemetry to uncover emerging threats and improve defensive capabilities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop detection strategies and strengthen the organization's security posture.

Requirements of the Threat Hunter include:

• 4+ years of experience in threat hunting, incident response, security operations, or a related cybersecurity function.
• Hands-on experience with Splunk or another SIEM platform, including building SPL queries from scratch.
• Strong understanding of networking concepts, systems administration, and enterprise infrastructure.
• Experience working with UEBA or UBA platforms to identify suspicious user and entity behavior.
• Prior experience as a Systems Engineer, Network Engineer, or similarly technical infrastructure-focused role is highly preferred.

Compensation for the Threat Hunter include:

• $130,000 - $160,000 annually
