Job Description

Performs operations, maintenance, and training on the following systems: Oehler Acoustic System, Field Equivalent Bar Targets (FEBT), Video Based Scoring System (VBLSS), Advanced Remote Control System (ARCS), Remote controlled targets, foreign radar systems, and unmanned remote controlled air and ground target systems. Conduct all operations in accordance with manufacturer's manual and Standard Operating Procedures. Oversees and participants in troubleshooting and executing repairs to foreign electronic systems with the aid of foreign schematics. When required, supports test missions conducting vehicle operations and maintenance support; ensuring all threat systems are mission capable prior to the start of a mission. Responsible to conduct multiple test operations as a project lead for the Threat Systems Section, interacting with Test Officers to ensure support meets test requirements. Must obtain and maintain a Limited Test Officer Certificate through Aviation Systems and Electronic Test (ASET) Division. Must maintain all required project documentation in the U.S. Army Test and Evaluation Command Decision Support System (ADSS) as well as prepare and submit; Cost Estimates, Test Plans, and Event Records, as required. Must track all project progress in ATEC's PMM database. Responsible to take a leadership role on selected projects ensuring safety, integrity, task completion, and quality customer service. Attends Safety Review Board meetings and set-up target operations to ensure optimal test support. Must continue to mentor, train, and assist technicians with less knowledge within Threat Systems working as a team. Performs other duties as required to complete the assigned mission. This position is covered under the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Pay Rate

Pay Rate: $40.89

Education/Licenses/Certifications/Experience Requirements
  • Must have a combination of the following education or experience: Bachelor's degree in Electronic Technology and 5 years of experience in Section 42 OR Associates of Applied Science degree in Electronics or equivalent training acquired through military or a recognized trade school and 6 years of experience in a related technical field and 3 years as a Threat Electronics Specialist IV.
  • Must possess a B or higher CDL and maintain for the duration of employment in section.
  • Must receive Limited Test Officer Certification through ASET Division.
  • Must have and maintain a valid U.S. passport.
  • Must be able to perform all duties of a Threat Electronics Specialist IV, have 6 years directly related electronics experience in Section 42, and have 10 years on YPG ranges.
Job Skills Requirements
  • Must be able to perform all levels of operations and maintenance to include acoustic scoring systems, remote control Caswell target systems, and foreign SA systems.
  • Must be able to design, fabricate, and operate thermal target systems.
  • Must be willing and able to mentor and train subordinate personnel to attain desired progression within the section.
  • Must have basic computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office programs, and have working knowledge of circuit drawing software.
  • Must have experience with radio frequency, have formal training in electronic math, solid-state devices, and digital circuits.
  • Must be able to use two-way radios, email, and cellular phones for communications.
Physical Requirements
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and physical and periodic retests.
  • Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for work tasks assigned.
  • Must be capable of working in extreme weather conditions including summer temperatures peaking around 120 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Must possess working knowledge of modems, GPS equipment, and computers
  • Must be capable of frequent bending, squatting, crouching, kneeling, standing, climbing, and stooping, sometimes for long periods.
  • Must be able to ascend and descend equipment.
  • Must be able to visually distinguish colors.
  • Must be capable of lifting and transporting 75 lbs unassisted over uneven ground for 50 feet.
Job Requirements
  • Must not have any current disciplinary actions in personnel file.
  • Must be able to travel for off-site duties up to 30% of time and remain at travel location for up to 3 weeks at a time.
  • Must be able to work all shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed, sometimes on short notice, to support test missions.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license, without special restrictions.
  • Must have dependable transportation and a dependable means of communication.
  • Must be able speak, write, read, and understand English.
  • Must have a well-mannered customer service attitude.
  • Must be willing to cross-train in other areas.
  • Must use "down-time" effectively to the benefit of test, self, and company.

Additional Desirable Qualifications
  • Possess 10+ years of experience as an electronic technician.
  • Experience with bucket truck operations.
  • Possess a class A CDL.
Terms of Employment & Eligibility Requirements
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a security clearance prior to employment and maintain security clearance for the duration of employment.
  • Must be a current TRAX employee or affiliate subcontractor for internal postings.
