Job summary

The University System of New Hampshire is seeking a Cyber Operations Engineer to oversee threat detection, incident response, vulnerability management, and security engineering across USNH. You will administer security platforms, coordinate with campus teams, and ensure compliance with policies and standards.

The role includes on-call duties, collaboration across IT units, and support for Microsoft security tools and cloud environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, IT, CS, or related field or equivalent experience.
• Experience with vulnerability management, security monitoring or incident response.
• Experience administering Windows and/or Linux in an enterprise.
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals and security principles.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, investigate, and respond to cybersecurity incidents and events.
• Administer vulnerability assessments and coordinate remediation.
• Implement and maintain enterprise security technologies (EDR, SIEM, IAM, PAM).
• Support audits and compliance initiatives across USNH environments.
• Collaborate with teams to promote secure design and operations; provide training.
• Participate in on-call rotations and 24x7 incident response as needed.
