The Security Engineer will participate in deploying, integrating, and operationalizing the Threat and Vulnerability Detection Platform across the enterprise. This role requires strong interpersonal skills, a self-starter attitude, and a desire to maintain enterprise-wide visibility into threat and vulnerability detection initiatives. The ideal candidate will have expertise in operating systems and software vulnerability management.

You’ll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on challenging projects.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Deploy and integrate the Threat and Vulnerability Platform technology across enterprise tools and connect them to security systems like SIEM, XDR, and reporting tools.
2. Implement and manage security controls to protect infrastructure, systems, and data.
3. Conduct vulnerability assessments and audits to ensure compliance with federal regulations such as FedRAMP and standards like NIST.
4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to determine security requirements and develop solutions.
5. Develop and maintain security documentation, including policies and procedures.
6. Stay updated on emerging security threats and technologies, providing recommendations for continuous improvement.
7. Review, test, and configure scan and report results for key stakeholders.
8. Mentor and guide junior security engineers and team members.

Required Qualifications:

1. 2+ years of experience with Tenable VM software and infrastructure.
2. 2+ years of experience mitigating vulnerabilities on Tenable VM servers.
3. 2+ years of experience responding to ad-hoc scan requests, false positive investigations, and vulnerability risks.
4. 2+ years of experience reviewing scan results for potential, successful, and failed scans.
5. 2+ years of experience with cloud service provider security concepts.
6. U.S. Citizenship is required due to FISMA regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. General knowledge of network concepts, Windows, and Linux OS administration.
2. Proven ability to generate metrics and reports for key performance indicators.

The salary range for this role is $71,600 to $140,600 annually, based on full-time employment. Compensation depends on factors such as location, education, experience, and certifications. UnitedHealth Group offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase, and 401(k) contributions. Benefits are subject to eligibility requirements.
