Responsibilities

• Assemble or secure pipes, tubes, fittings, or related equipment by threading joints.
• Translate instructions into computer commands so the machines can perform the correct function.
• Cut, thread, mark outlet holes, and groove pipes.
• Supervise the machines and adjust for better results.
• Inspect and measure finished products for conformance to specs.
• Apply Teflon paste and tape to threads daily.
• Document threading activities and ensure paperwork accuracy.

MISSION OF THE POSITION

The Threader is responsible for operating and assisting in the function of pipe threading in accordance with plant policies and procedures. They will ensure a safe and compliant operation during their shift.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Pipe Threading

1. Operate a Landis Pipe Threading machine to thread various sizes of pipe per production sheet.
2. Plan pipe system layout, installation, or repair according to specifications.
3. Measure and mark pipes for cutting, bending, or threading.
4. Assemble or secure pipes, tubes, fittings, or related equipment, by welding, brazing, cementing, soldering, or threading joints.
5. Translate instructions into computer commands so the machines can perform the correct function.
6. Cut, thread, mark outlet holes, and groove pipes.
7. Supervise the machines while they execute the tasks and make any necessary adjustments to produce better results.
8. Inspect and measure finished products to verify conformance to specifications.
9. Apply Teflon paste and tape to the threads daily.
10. Divide the pipe pieces by line number per production sheets daily.
11. Bundle the pipe pieces and tag the bundle daily.
12. Document all threading activities and ensure all paperwork is accurate.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Maintain a clean and organized work area.
2. Clean and maintain applicable machinery daily to ensure functionality.
3. Wrap pallets daily for ripples.
4. Perform other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Serve as a team lead by providing limited supervision to other through motivation, direction, review, and feedback of assigned tasks.

Machinists experience is a plus
