Job summary

Albany Medical Center is seeking a Physician Assistant to join the Thoracic Surgery team, with inpatient and multidisciplinary care responsibilities. This full-time role offers high-acuity surgical experience and hospital-based medical care.

Requirements include PA program graduation with NCCPA certification, active PA license, and 2+ years in surgical/acute care settings, preferably CT surgery. Strong ICU skills and team collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited PA program with current NCCPA certification.
• Active State PA license and prescriptive authority.
• Minimum 2 years' experience in surgical or hospital-based acute care setting; CT surgery preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care for thoracic surgery patients from assessment through postoperative care.
• Assist in diagnosis and surgical management of thoracic diseases including lung cancer and esophageal pathology.
• Perform or assist thoracic procedures such as thoracotomy and VATS.
• Manage ICU patients in postoperative thoracic care and critical care settings.
• Conduct preoperative evaluations and coordinate with MDT for planning and consent.
