Job summary

Saint-Gobain’s CertainTeed facility in Wisconsin seeks a Production Operator to ensure production goals are met on a fast-paced line. You will follow SOPs, set up lines, and maintain product quality while collaborating with a team to drive continuous improvements.

The role emphasizes safety, housekeeping, and participating in CI initiatives within a manufacturing environment. Relevant forklift experience and a HS diploma or GED are preferred.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED preferred.
• Manufacturing experience preferred.
• 1-3 years of forklift driving preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow standard operating procedures and recipes.
• Set up line following established equipment settings.
• Fill out maintenance work orders and assist Maintenance Technicians as needed.
• Maintain quality of product on production line by ensuring product standards are followed.
• Monitor product and resolve issues using CI tools; track metrics to close out work orders.
• Assist in minimizing/eliminating process wastes using CI tools.
• Maintain good housekeeping as per operator duties sheets and identify gaps for improvement.
• Perform Autonomous Maintenance (CILT: clean, lube, inspect, tighten) on equipment.
• Keep tools and equipment in good working condition.
• Support Continuous Improvement initiatives and sustainment boards.

Job description

Under the guidance of the Shift Supervisor and/or Line Lead, the Production Operator is accountable for performing required tasks necessary to meet production goals on a production line in a team oriented environment. This is done with an emphasis on the following:

1. Employee Safety
2. Product Quality
3. Production Efficiencies

• Follow standard operating procedures and recipes
• Set up line following established equipment settings
• Fill out maintenance work orders and assists Maintenance Technicians as needed
• Maintain quality of product on production line by ensuring product standards are being followed
• Continually monitor product, to detect and resolve issues utilizing CI toolsTrack and/or fill out metrics required to accurately close out production work orders
• Aid in minimizing/elimination of process wastes using CI tools
• Maintain good housekeeping as established by Operator Duty Sheets and identify gaps and areas for improvement
• Perform Autonomous Maintenance (CILT clean, lube, inspect, and tighten) on production equipment
• Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition
• Support Continuous Improvement expansion by participating and adhering to requirements as established by equipment/area sustainment boards
• Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives
• Flexible, open minded team player
