Job summary

Saint-Gobain Group is seeking a Production Supervisor I to lead a shift of hourly workers, ensure safe operation of lines, and uphold health, safety, and quality standards. You will coach staff, enforce rules, and support hiring decisions while driving cost-conscious improvements across the plant.

You will monitor performance, provide feedback, and ensure compliance with ISO and internal policies. The role operates on the 2-2-3 schedule with a focus on teamwork and accountability.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of manufacturing production experience is required
• Previous supervisory experience required, in a union environment preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite required, proficiency in SAP preferred
• General understanding of ISO methodology (ISO 9001, 14001, & OHSAS 18001) is required

Responsibilities

• Directly supervises the hourly production employees on the safe and efficient operation of the production line equipment and processes. Leads shift safety meetings to ensure compliance to safety, environmental and health policies.
• Communicates & documents employee expectations and assess employee performance. Provides coaching and development opportunities and administers disciplinary action up to and including termination if needed. Assists in the evaluation and selection process of hiring hourly employees.
• Oversees the training of production employees to ensure they receive adequate training prior to operating any manufacturing equipment and that they follow SOPs and work instructions.
• Assists in performing root-cause analysis and implementing sustainable countermeasures on losses related to production.
• Maintains workplace organization to ensure good housekeeping (5S) by holding employees responsible for their assigned work areas.
• Reviews and approves employee time in the UKG timekeeping system and ensures employees are paid the correct hours and wages in accordance with the respective sites pay policies and procedures or collective bargaining agreements.
• Other duties as assigned.

The Production Supervisor I manages the daily activities of production personnel and provides key leadership to safety, quality, housekeeping and cost reduction while promoting positive employee relations within the production team.

The Production Supervisor I monitors employee productivity by providing useful feedback and training, and sets employees' performance goals that comply with the organization's plans and vision. They consistently and equitably enforce plant rules, holding employees accountable for all facets of their jobs.

The Production Supervisor I is held accountable to ensure production activities are carried out in compliance with all environmental, health, and safety requirements, compliance with legal and company policies, and procedures in a manner consistent with SGC CertainTeed LLC Principles of Conduct and Action.

Essential Functions:

WORK SCHEDULE: Second Shift: This Production Supervisor works from 6PM to 6AM on the 2-2-3 schedule which includes some weekend work. Supervisors usually arrive around 5:30 PM to get the shift set up and then depart around 6:15 AM.

We believe in the importance of pay transparency in what we offer potential candidates. Provided is the national pay range for this position which is $72,500 to $111,500 per year. However, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.

In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 9% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The Total Target Cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position, is $79,025 to $121,535. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is not a guarantee.
