Job summary

FGF Brands in Brownsburg, Indiana is seeking a Production Line Leader to guide the food production line, ensure product quality, and meet timelines while upholding GMP standards.

Reports to the Production Shift Leader, the FGF Production Line Leader is a key production Mid-Level leader responsible for providing leadership to the Food Production Line, ensuring a consistent product in a timely manner that meets all standards set forth by FGF Brands. This Leader is responsible for understanding, complying with, and leading all assigned production tasks. This Leader is required to abide by and ensure that all safety requirements are followed. Required to ensure that the Production Line is well maintained, clean and that all the required materials are available for operation. Required to follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and ensure Team Members followGMPs.

Responsibilities
  • Ensures Operations Management System (OMS) procedures are being followed, maintaining a current inventory in the operating system
  • Must lead by example, foster and develop an environment of mutual respect and teamwork among Team Leaders and all FGF Members.
  • Attends pre-shift meetings (huddles) and conducts them as needed, providing feedback to Leadership
  • Reviews safety, quality, throughput, and waste metrics daily and drives corrective actions.
  • Balances staffing across stations to maintain flow without compromising food safety.
  • Stops or slows the line to address safety or quality risks and communicates impacts to leadership
  • The Line Leader coaches, mentors and trains Team Members on FGF Culture, Organization, Teamwork, the Site Facility and all facets of Production
  • Ensures production schedules are met, resolving any issues that hinder the timely production of a Manufactures Order (MO), maintaining quality and timelines
  • Coordinates the various department schedules, products and manpower to ensure that the production in the plant is effective and creates a superior product
  • When required, assists in all testing of new equipment, methods and or products. Analyzes and assesses issues with production or Site processes
  • Provides input on staffing levels, fostering a team environment by clearly defining and communicating to the Production Line Team Members their impact on individual and team performance.
  • Trains, develops and evaluates staff in a timely and effective manner. Setting objectives for Line Team Members and completing performance reviews. Required to provide informal and formal feedbackregularlyto Line Team Members and Leadership
  • Demonstrate Leadership that promotes Team Member engagement through enhanced communication and trust between team members andtheleader. Acts as a backup to the Shift Leader when necessaryResponsible for oversight of Critical Control Points (CCPs) to Production standards.
  • Monitors and provides adjustments to the computerized equipment to ensure a quality product is produced consecutively and that all products are produced with minimal waste
  • This Line Leader supports the orientation and training effort to ensure a new Team Member assimilates into an effective team
  • Ensures that a safe working environment is maintained at all times by monitoring Team Members on company standards and regular inspections. This Team Leader is required to complete three “GEMBA” walks/tours of production a day.
  • Performs the responsibilities and tasks assigned with guidance from Leadership and may be asked to perform general labor duties when needed, as well as be assigned additional duties byLeadership
  • Determines and timely reports equipment malfunctions to the appropriate Leadership
  • Must have the demonstrated ability or develop the ability to communicate problems with the line, issues with the line or personnel and ways to improve the Production Line to Production Leadership
  • When needed or as opportunities arise, work with Quality or Production Leadership on programs related to Lean Manufacturing and other quality tools
  • Must be willing to take on additional responsibilities and consistently demonstrate problem-solving skillstoexcel within the company
  • Must follow the FGF Site attendance policy and must comply with the required call-in procedures
  • Must be dependable and comply with timely arrival and departure time habits, including meals and breaks
  • Required to maintain a positive attitude and co-exist with all FGF Team Members
  • Must exhibit teamwork and willingness to help other FGF Team Members, strive to work within a team environment to meet/exceed established production standards
  • Required to follow the FGF company dress code and maintain a professional appearance
  • Must be able to be relied and depended upon to complete assigned tasks
  • Required to comply with established Departmental and Organizational policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and to move from one task to another with minimal distraction.
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Internal Candidate: Must have worked at FGF as a team leader in production for minimum 12 months or outside Manufacturing: QA TL/Sanitation Shift Leader/ Shipping TL/Opex Engineer for 1 year with leadership experience.
  • External candidate: Must have worked as a team leader in manufacturing for minimum 1 year with leadership experience
  • Must be a demonstrated self-starter who easily interacts with others and is adept at meeting demands established byadictated schedule
  • Must have excellent interpersonal, organizational,andcommunication skills, along with mathematical abilities and have strong computer skills,including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Outlook)
  • Attention to detail is a must, as well asthe presence of mind to work with difficult people
  • Ability to visually inspectproductsand materials
  • The ability tounderstandor the ability to learn Food Manufacturing, Food Safety Practices and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) requirements for this position
  • The ability to understand or learn Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) and to grasp all Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements for this position. Also, the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physicallycapable of performing the demands of the role and position
  • Flexible to workdays, afternoons, nights and weekends if needed
  • Ability to read, write, and verbally communicate in English with all levels of the organization.
