Job summary

Teledyne Technologies Incorporated is seeking an Assembler in Miamisburg, OH to perform a range of assembly tasks for electronic components and subassemblies. The role includes soldering, alignment, and inspection, with a 4/10 schedule and a third shift (7pm-5:30am). A $2,000 sign-on bonus is offered for qualified individuals.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to obtain and maintain an IPC/J-STD Certification within 90 days of employment and throughout tenure.
• Ability to obtain an ATF Possessor Permit.
• Effective verbal and written communication.
• Intermediate computer skills including MS Office (Excel, Outlook).
• U.S. citizenship is required due to DOE requirements.

Responsibilities

• Receive detailed instructions on all tasks with close supervision.
• Position and align parts in fixtures or holding devices.
• Perform assembly tasks including soldering, potting, encapsulating, and epoxy bonding.
• Install finished assemblies in cases or packing material.
• May assemble under a microscope or magnifying device.
• Mount components such as resistors, capacitors, and ICs.
• Connect components and route via soldering; adjust materials to meet specs.
• Perform inline testing and use inspection tools to ensure quality.
• Possess ability to cross-train on other programs.
• Follow schematics and blueprints to complete work.
• Occasional overtime, typically Fridays.

Job Description

We are presently seeking an Assembler that will perform any combination of the following tasks to assemble electronic components, subassemblies, products or systems.

$2,000 sign on bonus for qualified individuals

Schedule: 4/10 Mon-Thurs

Shift: Third Shift (7pm-5:30am)

Location: Miamisburg, OH

What you’ll do

• Receive detailed instructions on all work, under close supervision.
• Position and align parts in fixtures or other holding devices.
• Perform intermediate assembly tasks, such as soldering, potting, encapsulating, sanding, cleaning, epoxy, bonding, curing, laser welding, operation of pneumatic machinery, pneumatic presses, etc.
• Install finished assemblies or subassemblies in cases or other packing material.
• May perform assembly operations under microscope or other magnifying device.
• Mount assembled components such as resistors, capacitors and integrated circuits.
• Connect components, wires to printed circuit or route via soldering.
• Adjust, trim materials from components to achieve specified electrical or dimensional characteristics.
• Perform inline testing, inspection using measuring instruments and electrical test equipment to ensure parts and assemblies meet production standards.
• Ability to cross train on other programs in the facility.
• Perform various repair/rework operations using approved written procedures.
• Utilize schematics and blueprint drawings to complete work.
• Intermittent OVERTIME, typically completed on Fridays.
• Other duties as assigned.

What you need

Required qualifications:

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Certain job assignments require the ability to obtain and maintain an IPC/J-STD Certification within 90 days of employment and throughout your tenure.
• Ability to obtain an ATF Possessor Permit.
• Must be able to effectively communicate and engage with all levels of the organization verbally and in writing.
• Possesses intermediate computer skills including MS Office, Excel and Outlook.
• Please note that due to the requirements from the Department of Energy, U.S. CITIZENSHIP IS REQUIRED.

Preferred Qualifications

• Six to twenty-four (6-24) months of industrial experience or similar training is preferred.
• Ability to read schematics and assembly prints, as well as being thoroughly familiar with such assembly operations as wiring, welding, bonding and soldering is preferred.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 is a plus.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time.
• Some bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, pushing, pulling, mild lifting of 10 pounds or less.
• Some assemblers are required to intermittently lift up to 50 pounds.
