Job summary

Family Dollar is seeking a Customer Service Associate II to join our team in Georgia. You will assist customers, operate the cash register, and help stock and merchandise while maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming store environment.

The role emphasizes strong communication, integrity, and teamwork as you support daily operations and ensure a positive shopping experience for customers and colleagues alike.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior customer service in retail, hotel, restaurant, grocery, or drug store preferred.
• Ability to follow instructions and read operational documents.

Responsibilities

• Receive merchandise, unload trucks, and process freight safely.
• Stock and merchandize as needed; assist with cleanliness and bathrooms.
• Maintain a positive, safe environment and friendly interactions with customers and team.
• Handle sales transactions and operate the assigned cash register.
• Protect company assets and cash security.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Your Role:

• Receiving merchandise, unloading trucks, and processing freight in a safe manner in accordance with productivity standards
• Merchandising and stocking as needed
• Assisting with cleanliness throughout the store, including cleaning and restocking bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, taking out the trash, and ensuring all areas are neat and presentable
• Ensuring a positive, safe, and respectful environment while maintaining professional and friendly interactions with customers, associates, and leaders
• Managing sales transactions while working assigned cash register
• Maintaining security of cash and protecting company assets
• Other duties as assigned*

Your Skills and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred
• Previous customer service experience in retail, hotel, restaurant, grocery, or drug store environment is highly preferred
• Ability to follow instructions and interpret operational documents is required
• Must be able to lift between 30 and 50 lbs. from floor to above shoulder height and meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting, with or without reasonable accommodation
• Excellent customer service and relationship management skills are required
• Strong organizational and communication skills are required
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills are required
• High level of integrity is required
• Proficiency in basic math for cash accounting is required
