Job summary

Alpine District is seeking an Instructional Paraprofessional for Third Grade to support the instructional program and assist in special needs supervision in the resource classroom. The role involves implementing instruction plans, monitoring behavior, and providing clerical support to teachers.

Requirements include being at least 16 years old, a high school diploma or equivalent, and completion of mandatory employee training within 3 months of hire. Position is non-contract with no benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Adapt classroom activities to support objectives and IEP goals.
• Administer first aid and medical assistance as instructed.
• Administer tests, homework and make-up work to support teachers.
• Assist data collection to monitor student progress.
• Assist students with self-care activities and personal hygiene.
• Assist students individually or in groups with assignments and learning concepts.
• Attend trainings and meetings for job function updates.
• Communicate with supervisory staff to support IEP/504 objectives.
• Model appropriate behavior to guide student social development.
• Implement behavioral plans identified in student IEPs.
• Maintain instructional materials and records and ensure equipment availability.
• Monitor students in various school environments for safety.
• Perform clerical duties to ensure efficient operations.
• Provide instruction to students in various activities to reinforce objectives.
• Report observations and incidents to appropriate personnel.
• Supervise and escort students to classes for safety.
