Job summary

The University of Michigan's Center for Innovation - Michigan Engineering Zone (MEZ) seeks a Thinkabit Lab Coordinator to support curriculum delivery and program operations for the Qualcomm Thinkabit Lab at UM. The role emphasizes hands-on STEM experiences for middle school students across Detroit and Southeast Michigan.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or coursework in a STEM or educational field preferred.
• Experience with project-based learning, familiarity with electronics and programming, and/or willingness to expand these skills.
• Experience in managing groups of middle school students.

Responsibilities

• Lead middle school scholars through hands-on, project-based STEM learning using Thinkabit curriculum.
• Create a welcoming, inclusive, student-centered learning environment.
• Support scholars as they work through engineering challenges without taking over the design process.
• Help prepare, organize, and maintain curriculum materials, student notebooks, technology, equipment, and supplies.
• Support communications, outreach, and data collection for program evaluation.
