Job summary

Radiation Monitoring Devices, Inc. (RMD) in Watertown, MA, is seeking a Process Engineer for the Advanced Thin Film Technologies (ATFT) group.

You will lead thin film deposition efforts and collaborate with scientists to advance ALD/CVD/PVD processes and characterization techniques. You will develop substrate cleaning, operate ALD and PVD systems, and analyze data to support world-class research in radiation detection and imaging applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Material Science, Physics, Chemistry, or a related Engineering field.
• At least 2 years of professional or academic experience in thin film processes (ALD preferred).
• Experience with thin film characterization and vacuum science knowledge.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize substrate cleaning processes.
• Operate and maintain ALD and PVD systems.
• Characterize thin films using SEM, four-point probe, absorption and reflection measurements.
• Analyze data and compile reports using Microsoft Office tools.
• Liaise with external vendors for characterization measurements, supplies and procurement.
• Collaborate with scientists, technicians, and other process engineers in a dynamic R&D environment.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively within a team.
• Travel up to 10% for project-related work and vendor interactions.
