Job summary

Peninsula Plastics Company Inc is seeking a Thermoforming Production Supervisor on the 1st shift to manage operations at two nearby Michigan facilities, Pontiac and Auburn Hills. Lead teams of 10–35, ensure safety, quality, and on-time production.

Responsibilities include training, coordinating with the quality department, and maintaining lean processes while meeting customer deadlines. Reports to President/CEO and VP of Engineering.

Qualifications

• Recent experience in Plastics or Thermoforming is required.
• Experience with implementation of change/improvement processes.
• Development of training programs for production workers.
• Previous experience plant operations.
• Knowledge of 5S and lean manufacturing.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in MS Office and Google Suite.
• Strong Organization Skills.
• Familiarity with plant tools and equipment.
• Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to Lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand for 8+ hours.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of production personnel at two facilities.
• Training production team members in safety, proper production practices, and quality standards.
• Ensure product being produced adheres to quality and labor standards.
• Enforce and improve labor efficiencies.
• Ability to motivate hourly employees to be productive and maintain good attendance.
• Work directly with the quality department and understand the QMS to produce quality products.
• Interact with all levels of management and hourly employees.
• Track products being produced in the manufacturing progress to ensure each step is followed.
• Ensure all materials are staged and available when needed.
• Create corrective action plans to reduce repeat incidences.
• Follow company safety policies.
• Follow production schedules.
• Perform employee administrative duties such as scheduling, employee discipline, performance reviews.
