Job summary

Vicor Corporation in Andover, MA seeks an Engineering Aide/Technician to assist with custom thermal/mechanical fixtures and power-supply testing. You will assemble mechanical parts, source hardware, and support engineers in thermal evaluations of DC-DC and AC-DC modules.

You will prepare test modules, set up basic equipment, collect data, and present results in Excel. 4–7+ years’ hands-on lab experience preferred; familiarity with lab tools and wiring assemblies is essential.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent.
• 4-7+ years of experience in an Engineering Aide or Technician role.
• Hands on experience fabricating parts for lab scale test fixtures using manual machine tools.
• Ability to read schematics, engineering drawings, and tolerances.

Responsibilities

• Assist Engineers with creating and assembling custom Thermal/Mechanical fixtures.
• Support Thermal/Mechanical engineers in thermal evaluation of power supplies.
• Prepare power supply modules for testing with leads, thermocouples, and components.
• Assemble test fixtures including thermal management, wiring, and interfaces.
• Set up basic electrical test equipment to record voltage, current, power and temperature.
• Capture thermal and electrical data using semi-automated test equipment.
• Prepare test data for presentation using Microsoft Excel.
• Maintain equipment lists and track calibration dates.
• Access corporate databases for product specs and production test data.
• Interface with engineering groups to resolve test setup issues.
