Job summary

Boyd Thermal by Eaton in Fredericksburg, VA is seeking a Senior Test Engineer responsible for assembling, modifying, testing, and evaluating electrical and mechanical systems related to thermal management, control systems, and power distribution.

You will lead testing efforts, develop test setups, collect and analyze data, and collaborate with engineers to improve product performance and reliability. The role emphasizes prototype development and validation activities.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field is required.
10+ years of experience in electrical and mechanical system assembly, integration, and testing.
Must be located within 60 miles of Fredericksburg, VA; no relocation offered.
Eaton will not sponsor immigration or work authorization for this role.

Responsibilities

Assemble electrical products and test systems, including wiring and PCB soldering.
Build mechanical assemblies like heat exchangers, motors, and racks.
Develop test setups and test cells for validation activities.
Lead testing for new and modified product designs.
Create and execute test plans, qualification procedures, and validation protocols.
Collect, analyze, and document test data and results.
Support prototype assembly, test setup, troubleshooting, and teardown.
Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues during bring-up and validation.
Collaborate with vendors on testing activities and sequencing.
Maintain engineering drawings, specs, procedures, and work instructions.
Prepare technical reports, test reports, and assembly documentation.
Collaborate with engineering teams to improve performance and reliability.
