Position: Full-Time Staff Process Engineer IV

Location: Greenville SC, Charlotte NC, or Remote

Role Overview

The Process Engineer IV provides technical expertise in process engineering, including developing conceptual documents such as code reviews, system evaluations, heat & material balances, process flow diagrams, calculations, piping & instrument diagrams, scopes of work, and equipment data sheets, supporting detailed design phases.

Principal Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of engineers and designers in engineering design for multiple projects and clients, ensuring technical quality and standards.
  • Develop conceptual designs and evaluate alternative solutions based on constructability, performance, energy efficiency, reliability, maintainability, costs, and environmental factors.
  • Manage scope changes to meet project budgets and schedules.
  • Coordinate with disciplines, departments, construction teams, vendors, subcontractors, and clients.
  • Review and approve engineering drawings, calculations, and specifications for compliance and quality.
Required Skills
  • Thermal system design, simulation, and optimization using software like Thermoflow.
  • Heat transfer and heat exchange design; experience in developing performance basis for capital cost estimates.
  • Hydraulic modeling and pump sizing (AFT Fathom); Compressible gas system modeling (AFT Arrow).
  • Process equipment design and specification.
  • Effective communication skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office and other software.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
  • 10+ years of engineering experience, including 6-10 years in EPC or power industry related to thermal systems.
  • Experience with software suites like Thermoflow, and providing technical support during plant start-up and testing.
  • PE license preferred.
Compensation and Benefits

Wage range: $114,880 - $172,320, based on experience and location. Benefits include comprehensive health coverage, paid maternity leave, parental and family leave, paid time off, and other voluntary benefits.

Physical and Mental Tasks

Must be able to perform tasks such as visual acuity, balancing, stooping, reaching, walking, kneeling, manual dexterity, climbing, hearing, talking, reasoning, reading and writing complex documents, and working at the office or site.
