FEV North America, Inc. in Auburn Hills, MI seeks a Team Leader to guide thermal management and powertrain projects with no travel required. You will lead model-based development for engines, electrified powertrains, and fuel cells, while coordinating the project team and guiding technical discussions with customers.

DUTIES: FEV North America, Inc. seeks a Team Leader based out of our office at 4554 Glenmeade Lane, Auburn Hills, MI 48326. Note, this position does not require travel.
Lead projects in development of thermal management systems for compression ignition engines, spark-ignited engines, vehicle cabin HVAC, electrified powertrain components (battery, motor, powerelectronics), and fuel cell systems for on-road and off-road applications. Lead the project team on model-based development activities such as system simulation, control strategy development, controls validation, and virtual calibration of thermal management systems. Manage projects, mentor lesser experienced engineers, and provide general technical direction to the project team. Provide customer communication, which includes presenting analysis of results, data correlation, interpretation of technical data, communication of program status, as well as, guiding technical discussions regarding project direction. Support proposal preparation efforts including, writing, resource planning, and reviewing prior to submission to the customer. Contribute to research and studies that lead to industry publications and patent applications.
Requirements
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related and 36 months of experience in the job offered or related position in engine, hybrid, and fuel cell powertrain development.
Required experience must include:
- Experience with model-based development of thermal management systems for engines, hybrid powertrains, and fuel cell powertrains, which includes thermal simulation (engine, motor, power electronics, battery, fuel cell, and cabin HVAC), control strategy development, control strategy validation in Model in the Loop (MiL) environment, and virtual calibration;
- Experience with simulation capabilities and tools including GT-SUITE (engine cooling loop, engine lubrication loop, fuel cell heating / cooling loop, electrified powertrain heating / cooling loop, cabin HVAC), AMESim (propulsion system, thermal system) and Matlab / Simulink (plant modeling, MiL modeling and virtual calibration);
- Experience with thermal system architecture optimization and advanced energy management.
