Job summary

Baxters North America is seeking a Senior Manager of Thermal Processing to serve as the primary authority for all thermal methods (retort, aseptic, hot-fill, cook/chill) ensuring safety, compliance and product quality. You will coach the Thermal Process Team, drive continuous improvement, and lead validation and documentation of processes.

You will partner with plant leadership to train operators and quality staff, oversee deviations and corrective actions, and support capital projects involving

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in Food Science, Food Engineering, or related discipline.
• Experience as Thermal Process Authority with knowledge of CFR 21 Part 113/114, USDA, FDA, state and international regs.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance and process validation practices.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary Thermal Process Authority (TPA) for Baxters North America.
• Oversee development, validation, and documentation of all thermal processes.
• Manage direct reports in the thermal process department.
• Approve processing deviations and corrective actions.
• Train operators, supervisors, and quality personnel in thermal processing procedures and safety.
• Lead troubleshooting for retort performance and product quality issues.
• Guide capital projects involving thermal systems, equipment selection, commissioning and validation.
• Own HACCP, Preventive Controls and related food safety programs.
