Innovative Tech Solutions Inc is seeking a driven Thermal Performance Engineer to join its Electric Vehicle team in Auburn Hills, MI. You will design, model, and validate thermal management systems for EV platforms, focusing on battery, motor, and power electronics cooling.

Collaborate across disciplines to deliver robust BTMS solutions. Ideal candidates have 3+ years in automotive/EV thermal engineering, strong CFD tool proficiency, and hands-on testing experience.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in thermal engineering within the automotive or EV industry.
• Proficiency in thermal simulation tools (e.g., ANSYS, STAR-CCM+).
• Hands-on experience with battery thermal management, HVAC, or powertrain cooling systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and validate thermal management systems for EV platforms.
• Conduct thermal modeling and simulation to optimize cooling of battery, motor, and power electronics.
• Perform thermal performance testing, data analysis, and root cause investigations.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and systems engineers on EV thermal integration.
• Support development of battery thermal management systems including liquid cooling and heat pump strategies.
• Drive design improvements through CFD analysis, bench testing, and vehicle-level validation.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation for internal and customer stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and validate thermal management systems for electric vehicle platforms

Conduct thermal modeling and simulation to optimize battery, motor, and power electronics cooling

Perform thermal performance testing, data analysis, and root cause investigations

Collaborate cross-functionally with mechanical, electrical, and systems engineers on EV thermal integration

Support development of battery thermal management systems (BTMS) including liquid cooling and heat pump strategies

Drive design improvements through CFD analysis, bench testing, and vehicle-level validation

Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation for internal and customer stakeholders

Requirements:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Thermal Engineering, or related field

3+ years of experience in thermal engineering within the automotive or EV industry

Proficiency in thermal simulation tools such as ANSYS, STAR-CCM+, or equivalent CFD software

Hands-on experience with battery thermal management, HVAC, or powertrain cooling systems

Strong understanding of heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and thermodynamics principles

Experience with vehicle-level testing and data acquisition systems

Excellent problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented and collaborative mindset
