Job summary

Innovative Tech Solutions Inc in Auburn Hills, MI, is seeking a Thermal Performance Engineer to advance EV thermal systems. You will design, simulate, test, and validate cooling for battery, motor, and power electronics, collaborating with mechanical, electrical, and systems teams.

The role requires hands-on CFD experience, strong heat transfer knowledge, and 3+ years in automotive/EV thermal engineering; a Bachelor's or Master's in engineering is required; you will contribute to BTMS

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical or Thermal Engineering.
• 3+ years of thermal engineering experience in automotive/EV.
• Experience with battery cooling, HVAC, or powertrain cooling.
• Proficiency in CFD tools (ANSYS, STAR-CCM+).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and validate thermal management systems for electric vehicle platforms.
• Conduct thermal modeling and simulation to optimize battery, motor, and power electronics cooling.
• Perform thermal performance testing, data analysis, and root cause investigations.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with mechanical, electrical, and systems engineers on EV thermal integration.
• Support development of battery thermal management systems (BTMS) including liquid cooling and heat pump strategies.
• Drive design improvements through CFD analysis, bench testing, and vehicle-level validation.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation for internal and customer stakeholders.

• Experience with vehicle-level testing and data acquisition systems
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented and collaborative mindset
