Fermilab seeks a Mechanical Thermal Fluids Engineer in Batavia to lead design, analysis, and installation of thermal systems for accelerator cooling. You will develop piping, heat transfer and fluid flow analyses, write fabrication specs, and coordinate with vendors and technicians to deliver reliable cooling solutions.

The role requires ABET-accredited engineering credentials with 4+ years experience or advanced degrees with 2+ years.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree required with 4+ years experience, or a master/PhD with 2+ years.
• Strong knowledge of fluid cooling, piping, heat transfer and thermodynamics.
• Experience with design, analysis, procurement, installation and operation of thermal systems.

Responsabilités

• Design, analyze, and specify thermal-fluid piping systems for accelerator cooling.
• Lead fabrication specs for welding, brazing, bonding and joining of metals.
• Coordinate with vendors, technicians, and interns on projects.
• Ensure compliance with DOE orders, codes, and safety requirements.
