Job summary

AXISCADES seeks a Thermal Engineer for its Peoria, IL site to design and validate cooling components, modules, and systems for data center and related power applications. You will work under an engineering team leader to deliver robust thermal solutions.

Responsibilities include leading APQP and CPPD activities, supporting NPI and cost-reduction initiatives, collaborating with suppliers and customers, and ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards. Travel is <10%.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Engineering (Mechanical preferred) with GPA > 3.2.
• 3-5 years solid modeling experience (CREO/SolidWorks).
• Working knowledge of Teamcenter, APQP, DFM and CAT 1E specs.
• Previous supplier CPPD experience.
• Experience with NPI and component development.

Responsibilities

• Design and validate cooling components, modules and systems for data center and power applications.
• Lead APQP and CPPD to meet time, cost, and quality targets within budget.
• Support NPI, cost reduction and current production efforts.
• Communicate with engineering team members, suppliers and customers.

Responsible for cooling component, module, and system design and validation for data center and power systems applications under the direction of an engineering team leader.

Lead APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) and CPPD (Concurrent Product and Process Development) activity to ensure cooling products are developed to meet time, cost, and quality requirements within budget.

Scope includes NPI, cost reduction, and current production.

Communicate with other engineering team members, GSND, suppliers, and customers.

Adhere to established standards, policies, and practices relating to quality, cost reduction, safety, and ergonomics.

Some travel (less than 10%) to suppliers and manufacturing facilities is required.

Required Qualifications

B.S. in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering preferred) (GPA > 3.2)

3-5 years solid modeling experience (CREO/Solid works etc)

Working knowledge of Teamcenter, APQP, DFM and CAT 1E specs

Previous supplier CPPD experience

Experience with NPI and component development

Desired Qualifications

Expertise in heat transfer and heat exchanger supplier knowledge

Strong academic background in fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, heat transfer, and mechanics of materials

Mechanical fatigue knowledge

Experimental stress analysis knowledge

FEA (Finite Element Analysis) knowledge

Ability to analyze and solve structural problems
