Vast in Long Beach, CA seeks a Mechanical Engineer, Thermal Control Systems (New Grad) to design, build, and test thermal subsystem components for our Haven space station.

You will perform thermal/fluids analyses, support development tests, and collaborate with avionics, software, and mission operations teams to ensure seamless integration.

The role requires a BS in engineering, hands-on project experience, and willingness to work evenings/weekends; full-time exempt position in Long Beach, CA.

Qualifikationen

• B.S. in mechanical, aerospace, or related field.
• Experience designing mechanical components or systems.
• Familiarity with 3D CAD and FEA software.
• Understanding of GD&T fundamentals (ASME Y14.5).

Aufgaben

• Design and develop thermal control system components for a space station (heat exchangers, cold plates, heaters, heat pipes).
• Perform thermal and fluid analyses to size components and verify requirements.
• Contribute to design trades and support systems engineering tasks (requirements interfaces).
• Plan and run development tests, collect data, and improve designs and manufacturing.
• Work with avionics, software, and mission operations teams to ensure integration.
• Hands-on with technicians and suppliers to build, test, and troubleshoot hardware.
• Design with manufacturability and reliability in mind.
