Job summary

Vast, based in Long Beach, is seeking a Staff Thermal Engineer who will support the development of systems for next-generation space stations. Responsibilities include developing thermal systems requirements, optimizing designs through analysis, and executing subsystem tests.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of related professional work experience, or a Master's degree with 5+ years of experience.
• Experience in spacecraft thermal systems development.
• Ability to document analyses and designs.

Responsibilities

• Develop thermal systems requirements.
• Perform thermal analysis and optimize designs.
• Coordinate with other engineering disciplines.
• Document thermal analyses.
• Review and approve thermal design hardware.
• Plan and execute subsystem level thermal tests.
• Provide cost and schedule change feedback.

Skills

Knowledge and understanding of technical principles

Expert with thermal analysis tool: Thermal Desktop

Extensive experience with TVAC testing

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Physics, or related discipline
