General Atomics Electromagnetic Systems (GA-EMS) in California seeks a Thermal Analyst with strong heat transfer and CFD expertise. You will perform thermal analyses for lasers, sensors, nuclear propulsion, and electronics, supporting diverse defense and space applications.

Proficiency in ANSYS Fluent/S interfaces and MATLAB/Python scripting is preferred. The role requires advanced engineering education and experience, ability to present findings in briefings, and the ability to obtain/maintain

Formación

• Typically requires a bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering or a related technical discipline with progressive experience (4+ years with a bachelor’s, 2+ with a master’s)
• Demonstrated experience applying engineering principles in thermal/CFD analysis; prior use of hand calculations is required
• Proficient with thermal/CFD simulation software (ANSYS Fluent, STAR-CCM+, Workbench) and HPC experience desired

Responsabilidades

• Provides thermal analysis for lasers, sensors, electronics, and propulsion systems
• Documents findings and communicates reports at engineering meetings
• Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information and follows safety procedures
• Communicates engineering issues and results to audiences with varying technical depth
• Prepares briefing packages, documents and reports; supports program reviews
