Job summary

RTX is seeking a Senior Thermal Analyst in Marlborough, MA for onsite work. The role covers mid-level to senior thermal analysis across product lifecycles, from design trade studies to production support.

Candidates will use hand methods and finite element tools, and present results to defense customers. The position requires a STEM degree with 5+ years of experience, proficiency in FloTHERM/ANSYS, and the ability to obtain/hold a DoD Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) with 5+ years of relevant experience
• Experience in thermal analysis using FloTHERM, PATRAN, Thermal Desktop/SINDA or ANSYS
• Ability to obtain a U.S. government issued security clearance; U.S. citizenship required
• Demonstrated experience in thermal testing: planning, execution, data reduction and correlation

Responsibilities

• Perform hand calculations to scope higher-detail analyses
• Conduct detailed thermal analyses for program challenges
• Generate test plans to validate analyses and verify hardware
• Analyze test data to validate and correlate models
• Collaborate with peers to ensure technical accuracy under schedule constraints
• Present results to internal and external customers
• Document work thoroughly for reference
• Lead MA&T analysis/test teams or develop department processes
