Job summary

Mercy South Rehab Hospital seeks a Therapy Tech to support PT/OT/SLP by assisting with therapeutic interventions under supervision. You will help transport patients to appointments and perform nonclinical tasks that keep care running smoothly.

As part of a collaborative team, you’ll contribute to Mercy’s mission and service standards, requiring a high school diploma and CPR certification, plus good communication skills to interact with patients and staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One year previous patient care experience preferred.
• CPR certification required and able to respond to emergencies.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist therapist with therapeutic interventions under supervision.
• Escort/transport patients to and from therapy appointments.
• Perform designated nonclinical tasks to support patient care.
• Collaborate with the care team to uphold Mercy Service Standards.

Under the direction of the therapist (PT, OT, SLP) or assistant (PTA, OTA), only assists the therapist with therapeutic interventions. The Therapy Services Technician does not provide patient care. Works cooperatively with others as part of a team, recognizes the importance of group goals. Performs designated nonclinical support tasks essential to providing care to the patient. Assists with the transportation of patients to and from scheduled therapy appointments as well as other assigned duties. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Minimum Required

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience: One year previous patient care experience preferred.
• Certification/Registration: Must be CPR certified and be able to respond to emergency situations.
• Other skills & knowledge: Excellent communication skills.
