Job summary

Texas Children's in Houston seeks a Therapy Technician to support occupational and physical therapists in a fast-paced hospital setting, delivering developmentally appropriate treatments for patients from neonates to adults.

You will assist with setup/cleanup, patient transport coordination, inventory and documentation, and participate in mandatory training and safety programs. This PRN role includes weekend shifts and holiday coverage as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; familiarity with a medical environment preferred.
• Experience working with children preferred.
• Basic life support certification or willingness to obtain CPR certification.
• Demonstrates basic clinical and non-clinical competencies.
• Articulate, courteous and supportive with hospital staff, patients and families.

Responsibilities

• Provide age-appropriate care under supervision of therapists and therapy assistants.
• Assist with setup and cleanup of patient care areas as requested.
• Coordinate patient transportation schedule with primary therapist and care units.
• Maintain inventory of linen and patient supplies; clean and disinfect areas per protocol.
• Document activities according to departmental and hospital guidelines.
