The Arizona Department of Health Services is hiring a Therapy Technician 2 at the Arizona State Hospital in Phoenix. This role involves assisting with rehabilitative treatment programs, conducting therapy sessions, and ensuring a safe therapeutic environment.

DEPT OF HEALTH SERVICES. The Arizona State Hospital (ASH) provides inpatient psychiatric care to persons with serious mental illness who need long‑term behavioral health care. ASH promotes hope and wellness for our patients and creates opportunities to participate in planning, delivering and evaluating services that assist with recovery. Treatment is individualized with goals that focus on education about an illness, instilling hope and improving one’s overall quality of life. The Arizona State Hospital has a wide range of positions available, from our direct care staff, nurses and behavioral health technicians to social workers, rehabilitation specialists and security to name a few. The Arizona State Hospital also offers 12‑hour shifts for our direct care staff as well as some alternative work schedules, flexible hours for non‑direct care staff. Salary: $18,572.50 Grade: 15 Closing Date: Open Until Filled.
This position is eligible for a $5,000 hiring incentive. The Therapy Technician 2 works under general supervision of a certified/registered therapist and is responsible for a variety of activities, including active participation with therapeutic treatment teams, assisting in planning and carrying out rehabilitative treatment programs, assisting with and/or conducting therapy sessions in accordance with individual treatment plans, observing and recording a patient’s response to therapy and adjusting approaches, designing and constructing adaptive equipment, instructing patients in special exercises, communicating with the treatment team, establishing a safe therapeutic environment, escorting patients, preparing materials, consulting with supervisors, applying restraints as necessary, and participating in training and staff development.
