Job summary

ClearSky Rehabilitation Hospital of Eau Claire invites applications for a Therapy Technician to support patient care and therapy staff in our new, state-of-the-art facility opening December 2026. This role emphasizes efficiency, organization, and compassionate communication as you help deliver basic patient care and assist the therapy team.

You'll work under supervision to support patient comfort and safety, assist with admissions and transfers, and contribute to a collaborative, safety-focused

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 2 years inpatient hospital experience preferred.
  • Current BLS certification required.
  • Knowledge of infection prevention and proper body mechanics.

Responsibilities

  • Prioritizes and delivers basic patient care (toileting, bathing, linen changes, ambulating, etc.).
  • Documents vital signs and intake/output; reports changes to nursing/therapy staff.
  • Consults with Therapist and interdisciplinary team for patient care.
  • Responds to patient and family calls and requests; maintains gym area.
  • Assists with admission, discharge, and transfer of patients; supports safety and infection prevention standards.

Essential Functions:
  • Prioritizes and delivers basic patient care, which may include toileting, bathing, linen and clothing changes, freshwater and ice, ambulating, comfort measures, and other patient needs. Transfers patients utilizing proper body mechanics and safe patient handling techniques.
  • Documents vital signs, measures and records intake and output, weights, etc. Reports any changes observed in condition or behavior of patient to appropriate nursing or therapy personnel.
  • Consults with Therapist and other members of the interdisciplinary team for the delivery of patient care.
  • Responds to patient and family calls and requests.
  • Assists in preparing and maintaining gymnasium unit.
  • Assists in maintaining a physical, social, and psychological environment conducive to aiding in patient comfort and healing.
  • Assists with admission, discharge, and transfer of patients.
  • May be required to work during inclement weather and other staffing emergencies.
  • Provides an environment conducive to safety for patients, visitors, and staff. Assesses the risks for safety and implements appropriate precautions. Complies with appropriate and approved safety and Infection Prevention standards.
  • Maintains regular attendance in keeping with assigned work schedule.
  • Completed required trainings, as assigned.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to support overall effectiveness of the organization.
Minimum Education & Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • 2 years of experience in inpatient hospital setting preferred.
Minimum Job Requirements
Required Licenses, Certifications, and/or Documentation:
  • Current BLS certification required.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of current clinical operations and procedures.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of appropriate Infection Prevention and proper body mechanics.
  • Demonstrates general computer skills including data entry, word processing, email, and records management.
  • Demonstrates clinical proficiency utilizing policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Demonstrates appropriate use of supplies and equipment
  • Demonstrates critical thinking skills.
  • Effective organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and complete complex tasks.
  • Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection prevention standards.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to maintain proper levels of confidentiality.
  • Ability to work closely and professionally with others at all levels of the organization.
Physical Requirements Over the Course of a Shift:

A significant amount of standing, walking, squatting, bending, reaching, lifting, pushing, and pulling, often for prolonged periods of time.Lifting/exerting of up to 50 lbs.Possible exposure to bodily fluids.Visual acuity required for patient assessment and documentation of care.Acute hearing required for accurate patient assessment.Sufficient manual dexterity to operate equipment and computer keyboard.Close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
