Job summary

The Respiratory Therapist (RRT) position is a 13-week contract with night shifts, located near Saint Joseph, MI. You will deliver respiratory care, perform assessments, and support a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities include evaluating patients, documenting care per policy, performing point-of-care testing, and mentoring staff. Must have active State Respiratory Therapy license, RRT, NRP, BLS, ACLS, and reside within an hour of the facility.

  • Instruct and train other respiratory care staff, nursing, and medical personnel on patient needs and respiratory care services.

Description:As a Respiratory Therapist, you will help patients breathe more easily and live life more comfortably.You will collaborate with a highly skilled clinical team to help diagnose, monitor, and treat conditions that affect the lungs and breathing in people of all ages.You will perform evaluations to determine respiratory care needs and make appropriate recommendations and changes in accordance with policy and protocol guidelines.You will assess the effectiveness of treatments and accurately document according to department and legal/regulatory standards.You will carry out point-of-care testing as required.You will perform advanced evaluation, management, and therapeutic procedures for patients requiring respiratory assistance.You will complete and document required education and competencies within the designated timeframe.You will maintain competency in areas of accountability.You will ensure accurate and timely completion of all necessary documentation.You will facilitate a smooth transition for patients to appropriate referral services or the next point of service, providing education to patients and families regarding respiratory issues.You will instruct and train other respiratory care staff, nursing, and other medical personnel and students on patient needs and respiratory care services.
