Responsibilities

• Analyze patient needs and deliver respiratory care per protocol or physician order.
• Initiate, maintain, troubleshoot, and wean patients from respiratory equipment.
• Educate staff, physicians, and patients on disease processes and treatments.
• Interface with medical staff, nursing, and allied health practitioners.
• Participate in educational activities for staff and patients.
• Work in a 24/7 adult care respiratory care department, with weekend/holiday rotation.

Must-Have:

• Ability to analyze, prioritize, and evaluate patient needs efficiently.
• Ability to assess, recommend, implement, and modify respiratory care procedures by protocol or physician order.
• Competence in initiating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and weaning patients from various respiratory equipment, such as mechanical ventilation and BiPAP.
• Ability to complete all clinical and didactic yearly competencies for assigned clinical areas.
• Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to educate staff, physicians, and patients regarding disease processes, treatments, and medications.
