Job summary

Cynet HealthStaff is seeking a Therapy Assistant (PTA) for a 13-week assignment in home health. The role involves providing skilled physical therapy under a licensed PT, helping patients improve mobility, strength, balance, and independence in home and community settings.

Travel across designated areas is required. A current PTA license and BLS/CPR certification are mandatory, with strong communication and organizational skills emphasized throughout the engagement.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled physical therapy interventions under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.
• Assist patients in improving mobility, strength, balance, endurance, safety, and functional independence within the home environment.
• Monitor patient response to treatment and communicate progress, concerns, and recommendations to the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Educate patients, family members, and caregivers regarding home exercise programs, safety strategies, fall prevention, and the use of adaptive equipment.
• Travel throughout designated service areas to provide patient care in homes and community settings.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary home health team, including nursing, occupational therapy, speech therapy, social work, and aides, to optimize patient outcomes.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation according to agency, state, federal, and payer requirements.
• Participate in staff meetings, case conferences, quality improvement initiatives, and continuing education opportunities.
• Home health experience preferred but not required.
