Job summary

One Physics in Indianapolis is seeking a Therapy Medical Physicist Assistant to join our clinical team and support radiation oncology services.

You will perform weekly QA, annual calibration, monitor equipment, assist with commissioning of new treatment technologies, and maintain regulatory records, all under the guidance of senior physicists, with collaboration from dosimetrists and radiation oncologists to ensure patient safety and accurate therapy delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Health Physics, Medical Physics, Physics, Engineering or closely related field.
• Master’s degree from a CAMPEP approved program preferred.
• Foundational knowledge of radiation physics, radiation therapy, and radiation safety best practices.
• Experience or familiarity with QA tools, survey meters, dosimeters, and treatment planning software.
• Proficiency with technical software and data analysis tools.
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to follow clinical protocols.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills in a multidisciplinary clinical environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform weekly and monthly radiation measurements, as well as yearly calibration on all treatment units under supervision.
• Monitor equipment in the Radiation Oncology Department to ensure safe operation under supervision.
• Maintain regulatory agency records and reports.
• Analyze alternative treatment plans and supervise dosimetry treatment planning functions.
• Implement assessment/treatment and care based on patient developmental stages.
• Perform routine QA tests on linear accelerators, imaging systems and other equipment.
• Conduct patient-specific QA procedures.
• Assist with commissioning and acceptance testing of new treatment technologies.
• Support ongoing calibration and maintenance processes to maintain system accuracy.
