The Role

We are searching for a highly skilled, compassionate Therapy Medical Physicist to join our dedicated team of experts. Our candidates must be well-trained in Radiation Oncology and be able to work in a collaborative team environment.

Clinic Information:

• This position is located in Monterey, CA.
• This clinics is equipped with two Varian TrueBeam linacs jointly treating 60 patients per day.
• The clinic is also equipped with Eclipse, Aria and Vision RT.
• Philips CT scanner and Xstrahl for superficial treatments are at the
• This role will join a great team of established, tenured staff, including 1 senior physicist, 2 radiation oncologists and 3 dosimetrists.

What You’ll Do

• Perform weekly and monthly radiation measurements, as well as yearly calibration on all treatment units.
• Monitor equipment in the Radiation Oncology Department to ensure that it is functioning correctly and safely.
• Maintain regulatory agency records and reports.
• Analyze alternative treatment plans and supervise dosimetry treatment planning functions.
• Implement assessment/treatment and care based on the developmental stages of the patient.
• Perform additional duties, as needed.

What You’ll Need

• Master’s Degree and/or PhD in Medical Physics.
• A board certification by the American Board of Radiology in Therapeutic Medical Physics, or board eligibility as demonstrated by graduation from a CAMPEP accredited residency in therapy physics.
• 2+ years of clinical Therapy Medical Physics experience preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to interpret regulations.
• A willingness to go "above and beyond" for clients and fellow colleagues.
• Demonstrate initiative, organization, and ownership of daily tasks and projects.
• Ability to problem solve by seeking, developing, and implementing viable solutions.
